It might seem a little early to be planning for New Year’s Eve, but the NYE Dublin Festival is offering a few good reasons to plan 105 days in advance. The organisers have announced that ska legends Madness will be headlining festivities in the capital, supported by Ireland’s own Ryan Sheridan.
Like last year, the NYE Countdown Concert will be held in College Green, with elaborate visuals being projected onto the front of Trinity College. Also returning following a successful inaugural run last December 31st is the People’s Procession of Light, with a variety of performers joining the general public in a luminous procession through the Dublin streets before the concert kicks off.
January 1st, meanwhile, will host a free ‘Big Brunch’ in Meeting House Square, featuring live music, performances and family friendly entertainment.
Tickets for the 2013/14 Countdown Concert will be available from Thursday 26th and cost €25 (+ €2.50 booking fee). You can get more information on the NYE 2014 website, and you have plenty of time to get those baggy trousers ready for action.
