Canadian dentist Dr Michael Zuk raised some eyebrows this week with the claim that he’s planning to try and clone John Lennon… using DNA from one of the musician’s rotten teeth. Zuk bought the tooth back in 2011 for over €23,000, and he is hopeful that scientists will be able to use the partially intact tooth to fully sequence Lennon’s DNA.
As reported by US website The Examiner, Zuk pondered “if scientists think they can clone mammoths, then John Lennon could be next ... To potentially say I had a small part in bringing back one of rock's greatest stars would be mind-blowing.”
