The ‘fake’ Psy managed to talk himself into a variety of exclusive parties, events and hotels. As well as fooling security guards and event organisers, the man’s adapted identity also tricked a few celebrities. Skyfall actress Naomie Harris posted a picture of herself with ‘Psy’:

Psy himself, who was attending the Billboard Music Awards in the US before flying onwards to Singapore, eventually stepped in to confirm that Cannes Psy wasn’t the genuine article:

The imposter had even managed to score himself an entourage of three security guards to escort him while he enjoyed the festivities. Cannes organisers admitted “we’ve been duped... I had a conversation with his label and it wasn't him, just a lookalike”.
The Cannes Film Festival has seen a variety of strange happenings this year, including a major jewel heist and a gunman letting off shots during a media event with actor Christoph Waltz.
