Marcus Rashford is having his best Premier League season for Manchester United and there is still another seven matches to add to his tallies.

The England international striker had not played since 11 January due to a back injury but made his comeback in United's first game back after the lockdown, against Tottenham.

Rashford didn't find the net against the Londoners or against Sheffield United although he produced two assists in that second match and his manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy with what he has seen.

"Of course Marcus has been out for a while but I think he's looked sharp," said Solskjaer.

""I think he came on and looked sharp again, against Norwich [in the FA Cup]. [Against] Sheffield United he did miss one or two chances but the goals he created, that's what we're focusing on."

Rashford (22) has notched 14 goals and 7 assists which is already better than his tally of 10 goals and 7 assists last season and Solskjaer is in no doubt that he will score again soon.

"Marcus is on the way to his best season ever for Manchester United. I'm just looking forward to him getting more and more minutes," added Solskjaer. "He'll definitely score a goal soon."

Another one of United's academy graduates looks set to leave Old Trafford after the player and club failed to reach agreement on a new contract.

Highly-rated 19-year-old midfielder Angel Gomes' current deal is due to expire this Tuesday.

In May 2017, aged just 16, Gomes became the youngest debutant at the club since Duncan Edwards but when asked if the player could leave United, with talks deadlocked, Solskjaer did not sound too hopeful of him staying.

"I've not heard from him last night or this morning so it seems like they haven't managed to agree anything. The answer is probably short - yes," said Solskjaer.
