Forbidden Fruit Festival (Kilmainham, Dublin)
Price: Day Ticket €54.50 / Two Day Ticket €99.50
Forbidden Fruit is always a welcome addition to the festival timetable, as you get all the big headliners but don’t have to spend the night in a freezing cold tent that’s starting to leak with only a six-pack as a pillow.
Kasabian, Primal Scream, Four Tet, Crystal Castles, Ghostpoet, and Everything Everything are just some of the lineup who will be appearing at the Royal Kilmainham Hospital this weekend.
There’s not just music though, with a wide range of healthy food stalls to provide a bit of nourishment and comedians such as Kevin McAleer and David McSavage to provide a bit of a laugh. And all this in the glorious sunshine.*
International Bluegrass Festival (Grand Hotel, Tramore, Co Waterford)
Price: Day Ticket €10 / Weekend Ticket €20
If you fancy the odd hoedown or fiddle tune, or maybe your banjo is just getting a little rusty, Tramore will provide all the entertainment you need from this weekend until Tuesday.
The 2nd annual International Bluegrass Festival takes place over the course of the weekend, with 18 of world’s finest Bluegrass performers converging on the small seaside town.
Perfect if you want to experience a bit of live music this weekend but want to get out of the city and to the sea, in the glorious sunshine.*
Not to be confused with the Dunmore East Bluegrass Festival in August. The Déise love their country music characterized by banjos, guitars, and high-pitched vocals, don’t they?
*We’re not promising anything, but we're hoping as much as you are that this will be the case.
