The viral success of Friday was a fascinating accident: it's clear no-one involved ever expected to explode in popularity the way it did, or for the reasons it did (for its awfulness as opposed to musical worth). Rapper / producer / writer Patrice Wilson and his team, however, are looking to strike gold again with the release of Alison Gold's Chinese Food.
It repeats the formula of Friday: inane lyrics, a young female singer, a strange video, a mid-song appearance from Wilson himself and copious amounts of Auto-Tune. The subject? The title says it all: this really is an ode to the joys of Chinese food.
Despite what is surely an extra layer of self-awareness this time around, the video is already hovering around the 1 million views mark, proving a temporary viral hit for the team. Apart from the obvious issues with the musical quality, some critics have even debating whether the lyrics could be considered racially insensitive.
You can watch the video below and make up your own mind. Be aware, it contains a giant dancing panda bear for some reason.
