Ever since comedian Des Bishop performed House of Pain's unforgettable "Jump Around" as Gaeilge a few years back, the people of Ireland have had the profound, unquestionable belief that songs are cooler when they're sung in our native teanga.
This beautifully-shot, perfectly performed recreation of one of summer 2013's biggest hits ("Can't Hold Us") - by one of the year's biggest new artists to boot (Macklemore) - is hands down the greatest use of the Irish language we've ever read, watched or heard since "Is mise Bart Simpson" on our old Irish aural examination tapes.
The best part? It actually stars the living, breathing Macklemore. And he speaks real, actual Irish. ("Is aoibhinn linn an Gaeilge!")
The sure-to-be-viral video was masterminded by Galway-based music troupe Coláiste Lurgan, and it's not their first foray into internet stardom either - their as Gaeilge version of Avicii's "Wake Me Up" has been watched almost 2.5 million times since it was uploaded to the TG Lurgan YouTube channel in August.
