They’re two of the most beloved slices of pop culture from the 20th Century. On one hand, you have Charles M. Schulz’ iconic Peanuts comic strips - the 50-year-long series that gave the world Snoopy, Charlie Brown and their various friends. On the other, we have The Smiths - the Morrissey fronted rock band famed for their catchy compositions and darkly sardonic lyrics. Put the two together and what do you get?

What you get is This Charming Charlie, a brilliant mash-up series from graphic designer Lauren LoPrete. Taking the familiar black & white Peanuts cartoons and combining them with some of the most memorable Smiths lyrics, the results are surprisingly complementary - perfectly reflecting the humour and melancholy that have defined both the comic strip and music.
