Like every other decade, the 90s had its fair share of musical muck. But somehow Nirvana was included on a Rolling Stone list of the 10 Worst bands of the 1990s.
The Seattle grunge band released three critically acclaimed albums between 1989's Bleach and frontman Kurt Cobain's 1994 suicide, achieving mainstream success with 1991's Nevermind which spawned hits like 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and 'In Bloom'.
Of course, Rolling Stone music journos had nothing to do with the final list as an online poll of readers decided the results.
Other less surprising inductees include Canadian rockers Nickelback and NU metal act Limp Bizkit, while Creed topped the list.
Although they could not change the result, Rolling Stone did object vocally to Nirvana's surprise inclusion, saying:
"We're sorry, but everyone who voted for them in this poll is wrong."
