Creche fees in Ireland are one of the highest in Europe, that's according to Start Strong the group which is trying to improve kids early years. Monthly creche fees are now on average around €750 but in the capital they can reach over €1,000.

I spoke to Irish parents and mums and dads from Scandinavia who have their creche fees subsidised to around €200 a month and a creche who explains why the fees are so high.
