Children rescued from the rubble are still fighting to survive.
Last Monday, as children lay sleeping in their beds, a massive earthquake struck Turkey along the Syrian Border. Their bedrooms collapsed along with their homes. Sadly, many children did not survive that terrible night.
The earthquake, which hit near the town of Gaziantep, was then closely followed by numerous aftershocks - including one quake which was almost as large as the first. The people affected now need urgent help to survive.
UNICEF Ireland launched an emergency fundraising appeal to provide life-saving support to children and families affected.
UNICEF is on the ground providing medical supplies, warm blankets, and emergency food. But they urgently need the support of the Irish public. Even the smallest donation could help to save a child’s life.
€250 can supply 5 first-aid kids, to help injured children.
€100 could provide emergency food and clean water for 100 children.
€75 can provide 10 winter blankets to keep children safe and warm
