For Irish rugby players of Garry Ringrose's generation, defeat is a rare thing.

But they bumped back to earth after a chastening loss against England in their Six Nations opener.

Given the rarity of such setbacks, one would imagine that they leave a stain on the psyche.

"I can't speak for everyone but you go into a bit of a dark place," said Garry Ringrose.

"Because it's never fun losing in any capacity. But then being in the Aviva here as well, at home, doesn't make it any easier.

"I could have been a better voice in attack"

The Leinster and Ireland centre has been speaking to Joe Molloy today.

Due to a hamstring strain, he missed the bounce-back win in Scotland. But he gave Joe an update on when he may be back in an Ireland shirt.

"It wasn't particularly severe. But it's not something I want to make a habit out of or make any worse," he said of the injury.

"So hopefully get it right now and then be good to go."

Ringrose also pointed out the areas he fell short in against England.

"I could have been a better voice in attack and taking a bit of pressure off the 10," he said.

"Just provide a bit more of a voice, a bit more eyes up and look for space if it's on. Then there were a couple of tackles that were slipping off slightly. Not the ideal or dominant tackle that I would have been looking for!"

He also spoke about his style of play including kicking and strong defensive awareness.
