After Ireland’s first away win in 39 years against Australia, the series is level at one victory a piece. Ireland battle Australia this weekend in the decider, looking to win the series for the first time since 1979.
After predicting a five point win for Ireland over the weekend, mystic Brian O’Driscoll joined Joe Molloy in the studio to give his review of Saturday’s win over the Aussies and his prediction for this weekend’s decider.
"It’s been an incredible season. To almost go the whole season unbeaten is phenomenal. I have read lots about is this the greatest Irish team we’ve ever seen, I think it’s hard to argue against that. Their consistency of performance, even when they were off in the first test they weren’t a million miles away and that’s the sign of a really great team.
"I think what they did at ruck time, denying Australia quick ball and the accuracy on their own possession, was the difference between winning and losing, its everything in the game.
"I fancy them in game three. I wouldn’t quite say they have Australia’s number but I think they’ve worked out what can win them the game. Having Johnny Sexton on the pitch makes the difference . I’m confident, I think Australia started running out of ideas. I think we’re going to win and probably by the same again, five or six."
