Jack McCaffrey doesn't turn 25 until October but the Dublin half back is in line to potentially add a fourth All Ireland title to his tally (he took a year out in 2016 when his team-mates won another Sam Maguire).
He was involved as the Dubs saw off Galway in the All Ireland semi final and as he winds down from that high with Tyrone on the horizon in the final, OTB's Maire Treasa Ni Cheallaigh caught up with him.
After discussing his progression from injury, the Clontarf club man also discussed Dublin's critics and also defended the controlled and patient style of play that eschewed constant high tempo and go-go-go mentality.
"I think it's a bit easier to sit here and say, 'That guy should just run the pitch', than actually doing it," he replied.

"It was quite a tough, physical game on the weekend and I tell ya, there were some sore bodies after it.
"The game is played at such a high pace and such an intensity that you have to conserve energy when the time comes available.
"And the other thing is, scoring chances in those types of games are few and far between, so you want to make sure the right person is taking a shot as opposed to someone like me just kicking the ball from 50 yards."
He also had his say on those who say he and his team-mates are not demonstrative enough in their joy: "We're all really enjoying ourselves. We can't exactly walk around with a big sign that says that but if you want to take my word for it, we're having a good time."
He was speaking at the launch of the 2018 Fexco Asian Gaelic Games.
