Keith Wood is anticipating a "cracking game" against Cardiff this weekend with what's at stake for Connacht.
The Irish province could seal qualification to the Heineken Champions Cup for next season with a win.
Former Ireland captain Keith joined us on Wednesday Night Rugby to look ahead to the weekend.
"It's a cracking game for this weekend against Cardiff," said Keith.
"And if they can win this weekend, they have a match to spare against Munster at Thomond Park next week.
"Really Big One"
"So it's a really, really big one. If they win this weekend, it's qualification for Europe for them, which would be fantastic.
"That would be phenomenal for Connacht. When we saw there was a shake-up for the Pro14 and the European competition, we would have always wished to try and get all our four teams into it.
"But one big game this weekend and that reality could become absolutely true."
Keith believes the swift progress made under head coach Andy Friend has led to this.
"I love the fact that Connacht have actually built on a level of confidence," he said.
"When Andy Friend came in, there was a fair amount of criticism for the fact his predecessor was shot out the door in very snappy fashion.
"And yet Andy Friend seems to be the guy that fits the bill exactly for Connacht. They've looked confident, they've looked like they're having enjoyment. Even with certain things not going their way, they've had a lot of players in the Irish set-up and that takes its toll actually. And yet they look in good form. I think Bundee Aki's back at the weekend. I don't think Quinn Roux is. He's out with a bug but Bundee will be back and will make a big difference."
Keith added, "It has to be Connacht's game at home".
