Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, aka, The Mountain from Game of Thrones joined OTB AM this week to talk about his transition from the World's strongest man to cult villain in the biggest show on TV.
Björnsson was taken aback by the reaction to his famous fight scene in 'The Mountain and the Viper" where he crushed the skull of another man with his bare hands.
"When you're reading it the first time, you're like 'F**k, how are we going to do this?' It's definitely exciting and it's great to be part of such a big television show," he told Ger.
"I knew that the show was huge and I knew that the fight as very important to the show and everything like that but I didn't realise how much attention it would get.
"Was I ready for it? I couldn't really prepare myself for it. I didn't really know it was going to happen so it just kind of came, you know, and now it's just part of my life.
"Like I said before, I'm just enjoying the journey. I like the journey, and yeah, I like my fans, and I'm especially enjoying the journey.
"I haven't read the books, I'll be honest with you. I was a fan of the show and I was watching the show when I got the offer. I didn't really believe it in the beginning. It was surreal, I didn't believe it.
"When I first got the email, I didn't believe it and didn't respond to it straight away - it was too good to be true.
"It was almost like 'this is some bullshit, I'm not going to waste my time answering it' but then actually a few days later, I got this phone call and then things got serious."
