The Residential Tenancies Board, the State agency that deals with rental disputes, has published its Annual Report for 2016.
It claims it's had its busiest year ever with up to 1,000 callers a day. People not paying their rents made up the largest amount of complaints.
Director of the RTB Rosalind Carroll spoke with Pat Kenny this morning, and the issue of whether those who withhold paying their rent should be processed through the criminal justice system arose.
Pat Kenny argued that not paying rent is akin to stealing from your landlord, and should be treated in the same manner.
