Legendary sports commentator Jimmy Magee has died at the age of 82.

The veteran broadcaster known as 'memory man' had been ill for some time.

Tributes have been pouring in from friends, colleagues and those who knew and loved him.

John Giles and Kenneth Egan spoke with Newstalk Breakfast, and shared their memories of the man.

Later, Des Cahill spoke of Jimmy's sense of humour with Pat Kenny.
