Yesterday, saw a new winner of the Tour de France's yellow jersey.
Italian rider Vincenzo Nibali of the Astana team claimed the largest winning margin in the Tour de France since
Nickname
Nibali is known as 'The Shark' with many variations of that moniker. It ranges from 'Shark of the Strait' and 'The Shark of Messina' which reference the Sicilians birthplace.
He also became the first Italian winner of the Tour since the late Marco Pantani achieved the feat in 1998.
Previous success
Prior to his triumph at this year's Tour de France, the Italian had already claimed victory in the Giro d'Italia (2013) and Vuelta de Espana (2010) which means this year's Tour victory makes him just the sixth rider to have won all three Grand Tours after Jacques Anquetil, Felice Gimondi, Bernard Hinault, Eddy Merckx and Alberto Contador.
Style
The 29-year-old is an all-rounder, meaning he is capable as a climber or time trialist. He won four stages at this year's Tour, with three of them being mountains stages and one a medium-mountain stage between York and Sheffield.
He also fared well in the individual time trial at Stage 20, finishing fourth.
